Experience

With Eckler since 1994, Cameron has more than 30 years of experience as an employee benefit plan consultant, specializing in multi-employer pension and benefit plans. He is responsible for a number of the firm’s major employee pension and benefits clients. His clients span a variety of sectors including construction, religion and education. He has created several benefit trusts for clients in the auto, agriculture and education sectors.

Cameron has been an active member of the industry helping to shape legislation, including being a member of the group that lobbied the Ontario government to adopt more appropriate funding requirements for multi-employer pension plans and as a witness to the Senate Legal and Constitutional Committee and the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance concerning the impact of Bill C-377 on pension and benefits plans. He was asked to be a witness to the Standing Committee on Alberta’s Economic Future regarding the effect of Bill 10 on multi-employer pension plans.

Highly respected within the industry and by governments, Cameron is known for his extensive expertise in member-run pension and benefit trusts. With strong problem-solving abilities, Cameron has a well-earned reputation for providing exceptional advice to his clients.

Cameron is the Chair of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario’s (FSRA) Stakeholder Advisory Committee (SAC) for Pensions. The SAC advises the Board on FSRA’s priorities and budget, along with other pension-related matters.
