Experience
A Principal, Johanan (Joe) has been with Eckler since 2020. He joined the firm as our first Saskatchewan employee to support a growing roster of clients in the province. He brings over 15 years of experience in the pension consulting field and is a fully qualified actuary. His professional background includes all aspects of defined benefit pension consulting as well as experience with defined contribution plan design and implementation.
Joe has worked with a variety of pension clients across the Prairie provinces and Ontario during his career, from small private sector plans to very large public sector plans. Before Eckler, he worked for a large global consulting firm.
A pension expert with a varied and broad background, Joe’s consulting assignments range from technical valuation work and programming to governance consulting, along with plan design for defined benefit, target benefit and defined contribution pension plans. He also has experience with valuing post-employment and long-term disability benefits. Joe has an in-depth knowledge of pension legislation and regulatory requirements along with expertise in pension accounting standards.

Personal
In keeping with Eckler’s core value to support our communities, Joe is heavily involved in his local church where he currently chairs the Board of Elders and is a youth leader. He also coaches community soccer and baseball. Joe is also an avid disc golfer!
