Josephine Marks and Lisa Wade recognized by leading actuarial associations
Eckler is proud to recognize two of our principals for their continued leadership and service within the actuarial profession, reflecting decades of contribution at the highest levels.
President‑elect, Canadian Institute of Actuaries
Josephine Marks, from Eckler’s life insurance consulting practice, will become President‑elect of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA) following the CIA’s annual meeting in mid‑June. She will serve as CIA President‑elect for 2026–2027 and as CIA President for 2027–2028.
Over the course of her career, Josephine has made significant contributions to the profession through her experience across various practice areas, leadership, and extensive volunteer service. She is widely respected for her professional judgement, her dedication to the advancement of actuarial practice and her support for those making career decisions
– actuarial or otherwise.

Nominee for President‑elect, International Actuarial Association
Lisa Wade, practice leader in Barbados, has been nominated to become President‑elect of the International Actuarial Association (IAA) for 2027. Pending confirmation later this year, she would serve as IAA President in 2028.
Lisa’s nomination reflects a long history of leadership and service within the actuarial community, both across the Caribbean and globally. In addition to her extensive volunteer contributions, she previously served as President of the Caribbean Actuarial Association, where she played an important role in strengthening the profession across the region and fostering greater collaboration internationally.
